Tonight’s 11/16/19 jackpot was estimated at $70 million, with a cash option of $47.0 million. The jackpot could have increased if sales furthered lottery projections, according to officials.

Winning numbers from the 11/13/19 jackpot of $60 million on Wednesday were: 23-26-27-28-66

There was no grand prize winner on Wednesday, but there was a ticket sold in Maryland that matched all five white balls for the second prize of $1 million. Had the Power Play been purchased for an extra $1, the second prize would have been worth $2 million.

The last grand prize winning ticket was sold in California on Saturday (11/02/19) for a jackpot of $150 million.

Powerball is a multi-state lottery played every Wednesday and Saturday, and one of America’s two biggest lottery jackpot games. Powerball jackpots start at $40 million, and other prizes pay from $1 million to $2 million or more with a Megaplier. Tickets are $2. You can check the numbers for tonight, or any past winning numbers, on the official Powerball website.

The other multi-state lottery is Mega Millions, which is played on Tuesdays and Fridays. Like Powerball, the jackpot is reset at $40 million after a jackpot is won, and one line of numbers is $2, with a $1 option to multiply their winnings with a Megaplier. Here is the Mega Millions website for more information, or to check any potential past numbers.

There are nine ways to win money during the Powerball. Just getting the powerball with no other numbers pays out $4, and even more if the power play is bought for an extra dollar. The same payout goes for one ball plus the powerball, and $7 is the payout for two correct numbers with the powerball, or three correct numbers and no powerball.

If all five white, numbered balls are chosen but the red powerball is not correct, then the payout is $1 million, with an even higher payout if the power play is chosen.

The Powerball jackpot has reached $70 million for the person who holds the winning ticket on Saturday, Nov. 16. The one-time cash payout for tonight’s Powerball drawing will be $47 million.

The winning Powerball numbers are drawn every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time, with Powerball results usually posted within five minutes, but there was a delay in posting on Saturday, the lottery said.

In most states, ticket sales end at least one hour before the drawing, but a state may halt sales earlier, such as Illinois, which stops sales three hours before the drawing. In Maryland and New Jersey, ticket sales end at 9:59 p.m.; in Virginia, they close at 10 p.m. Check with your state lottery for the cut-off time.

The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday, Nov. 16, are: 14, 22, 26, 55, 63 and the Powerball of 26.

The largest Powerball jackpot in history was $1.586 billion, which was split by winners in California, Florida and Tennessee in January 2016.

A player in South Carolina claimed the $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot on Oct. 23, 2018, game officials said; the winner chose not to be identified.

To win the Powerball jackpot a player must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball number. The odds of picking the correct Powerball grand prize numbers are one in 292,201,338, which doesn’t change even if more players buy tickets when the jackpot is enormous.

You have a better chance of winning the Powerball jackpot if you let the computer select your numbers, according to the officials with the lottery. About 75 percent of winning tickets over the years had numbers picked by a computer.

Powerball tickets cost $2 each. Find locations where you can buy your Powerball tickets here.
