The next Powerball drawing will be held on Saturday night at 11 p.m. EST. and will be worth $69 million with a cash option of $41.6 million, according to the Powerball lottery website.

The last person to claim a Powerball million dollar jackpot prize was a man from Sterling Heights, Michigan. Peter DeLuca, 51, matched five of the numbers on the white balls during the October 13 drawing. He told lottery officials that he had purchased the ticket at a Kroger Store in Sterling Heights and had left the ticket in his car. He said he had forgotten about the ticket but had found it and took it to a 7-Eleven to check his numbers.

“I took the ticket to 7-Eleven to scan it and see if it was a winner. When the clerk scanned it, she told me it was more than she could cash so she printed off the numbers from the drawing so I could check the ticket and see how much I’d won,” DeLuca told lottery officials. “As she read them off to me, I couldn’t believe I was seeing them all on my ticket!”

The 51-year-old says he plans on using the money to take a big trip and save the rest for his retirement fund.
