With his team’s 17-7 win vs Wisconsin Sat., Pat Fitzgerald has his first 5-0 Big Ten start & fifth 5-0 overall start as Northwestern head coach. Going into a game vs. Michigan State, its next opponent, NU has had a 5-0 or better record one previous time (5-0, 1-0) — a 2008 loss. NU will be seeking its third 6-0 Big Ten record (1936 & ‘95 – the latter with Fitzgerald at linebacker) & 5th overall 6-0 start (1930, ‘36, ‘59 & ‘62).
