The Pre-K lottery application for the 2020-2021 school year was available on January 6, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.-February 12, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. The lottery drawing will be held on February 24, 2020. Results from the drawing are emailed to applicants after a verification process is complete. Pending official verification, the release of the lottery results could be delayed. If you are interested in participating in our program, but have missed the lottery application acceptance period, we will begin accepting waiting list applications on March 2, 2020 in an attempt to fill any vacancies that remain after the lottery drawing and to generate waiting lists. Seats will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis. If a seat becomes available and you are next in line to receive a seat, you will be contacted by phone.
- Child must turn four years old by September 1, 2020

- If you are the parent of twins, triplets, etc., you are required to submit one application per child. Before the lottery drawing takes place, each application will be linked to ensure that they are placed at the same site

Applicants can access our online lottery application by visiting www.enrollearlyatl.com from January 6th-February 12th. It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete the application. If you are unable to complete the application in one sitting, you can save your information and return later, but must submit by February 12th at 11:59 p.m. Lottery applications will NOT be accepted after February 12th at 11:59 p.m. for any reas on.
When completing the application, applicants will be allowed to select a maximum of three different Pre-K sites and should list them in order of preference. Selecting three sites is optional. If you are only interested in one or two sites, leave the other site selection fields blank. Although not mandatory, we strongly encourage you to select your child’s zoned school as your first choice. Acceptance into your zoned school creates an easy transition to kindergarten. In addition, school bus transportation services will only be offered to your child if they are accepted into their zoned school and live more than 1 mile away from the school.
Once the lottery results have been verified, each applicant will receive an email informing them of the results. If your child is accepted, your email will contain an invitation to enroll and a list of documentation that you are required to submit. To ensure that you are prepared for enrollment, required documents are listed below. If your child is not accepted, he or she will be placed on the waiting list for your first choice only.

What is the age requirement for a student to enroll into Pre-K?
To be eligible for the 2020-2021 school year, your child’s date of birth should be on or between the following dates: September 2, 2015-September 1, 2016
If my child lives outside of the Atlanta Public Schools’ attendance zone, is he/she eligible to participate in the Pre-K program?
No. If your home address is not zoned for Atlanta Public Schools, you are not eligible to participate. If you are unsure if your address is zoned for APS Click Here to veri fy.
If I am an APS employee and do not live within the APS attendance zone, is my child eligible to participate?
Yes. Proof of employment such as a badge or check stub is required.
If my child is eligible for Kindergarten, but did not participate in a state funded Pre-K program, are they still eligible to enroll into Pre-K?
Yes. Please contact the Office of Early Learning at 404-802-3640 for more information.
1. Proof of birth (Your child must be four years old on or before September 1, 2020)
- Original certified birth certificate; or child’s passport (Copies of these documents are not accepted)
2. Proof of legal guardianship (If applicable)
- Only required if your name is not on the child’s birth certificate
- Valid state or government issued photo ID, such as a Georgia Driver’s license, or a valid U.S. passport ID
4. Proof of Parent/Guardian Georgia Residency
- Mortgage or lease/rental agreement in your name, OR an electric, gas, or water bill in your name; (Cable and phone bills are not acceptable) Bills must be dated within 30 days of your enrollment date.
**If you are living with someone and you do not have a lease, mortgage or utility bill in your name, you must submit the following: A signed and notarized Affidavit of Residency AND a lease/mortgage statement or utility bill in the name of the person that you are living with AND 3 forms of mail in the name of the child’s guardian showing a matching address to the affidavit. Learning & Performance
Henry County Schools GA Lottery Pre-K program is an age-appropriate instructional program for 4 year olds that prepares students for a successful transition to kindergarten and beyond. The program is a full day program that operates under the regular school calendar. The school day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 2:25 p.m.

Currently, Pre-K seats are filled for the 2020-21 school year. Completing the Back-To-School Registration Selection Form for GA Lottery Pre-K and opting in for onsite or remote learning does not register your child for the GA Lottery Pre-K program. Only those selected through our lottery process should identify their remote or on-campus preference.

The Henry County Schools Pre-K lottery was conducted on March 5, 2020. The rosters and waitlists at all locations are currently closed. Additionally, we are not accepting applications for additional waitlists at this time. In the event the waitlist is re-opened at any location, the school will be notified and the information will be posted on the Pre-K website.

2020 – 2021 Pre-K Lottery Application
Henry County Schools Pre-Kindergarten Lottery Process
The Pre-Kindergarten lottery application for the 2020-2021 school year is available from January 27, 2020 – February 7, 2020. Completing the lottery application does not guarantee that your child will be selected for a seat. Lottery applications will NOT be accepted after February 7th for any reason.
The lottery drawing will take place on March 5, 2020. Notification of selection will be sent to the email provided on the lottery application. Applications must have a valid email address. Please check your email, including spam and junk mail folders, for notifications beginning March 9, 2020.
For your child to be eligible for the Henry County Schools Georgia Lottery Funded Pre-Kindergarten program:
Your child must turn 4 years of age, on or before September 1, 2020
If you are the parent/guardian of twins, triplets, multiple siblings, etc. who are age-eligible for Pre-Kindergarten, you are required to submit one application per child. Please note that all applications are selected individually. Therefore, there is a chance that only one child will be selected for a seat on the roster.
Out of District Applicants:
In accordance with Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, a child who resides within another local school system’s attendance zone may not be denied service but may be placed on a waiting list until all children who do reside within the district are enrolled.
Therefore, once all Henry County applicants have been selected for a roster and all waitlists have been exhausted, out of district applicants will be contacted to fill vacancies.
If you reside outside of the Henry County Schools district and wish to apply for the out of district waitlist – please click HERE. You should receive a confirmation of your submission via email. The out of district waitlist will be established in the order of submission.
Seats are filled through a random selection lottery process. You may submit ONE application per child.
The selection process consists of a two-tier lottery system.
Tier 1: Students who live within the attendance zone of the selected school will receive priority in the lottery selection. Addresses will be verified and seats will be filled from this list first. Once all seats are filled, a waitlist will be created from the remaining applicants.
Tier 2 : Students who do not reside within the attendance zone of the desired school, but live within the Henry County School district, will be selected through a random lottery process and placed on the waitlist. This waitlist will be used if a class is not filled with tier 1 applicants or the tier 1 list is exhausted before all seats are filled. Additionally, if selected for a seat on the roster, you must provide transportation to and from the school.

If your child is zoned for a school that does not offer GA Lottery Pre-Kindergarten, you may submit an application for the school closest to you. However, applications that are not zoned for a GA Lottery Pre-Kindergarten locations are considered tier 2.
Once you have submitted your lottery application, you should receive an email verifying submission. There is no need to contact the Office of Early Learning after submission.
All Henry County School employees are eligible to apply. However, HCS employee status does not automatically guarantee a seat on the roster. Applications will follow the guidelines of the lottery process.
Children who are 4 years old by September 1, 2020 are eligible to participate in the 2020-2021 Pre-Kindergarten program. Acceptance into the program will be based on a random lottery selection process for each school site with priority given to children residing within the individual school attendance zone.
Eligibility for Enrollment
If selected for a seat on the roster, the documents below will be required at the time of registration. Henry County Schools Registration Requirements
- Photo ID of the parent/guardian registering the student (government-issued photo id, driver’s license, passport)
- Child’s Social Security Card (original card or waiver)
- Age Documentation (original or certified copy of the birth certificate indicating 4 years old by September 1, 2020. It must have a state seal and file number.)
- Proof of Guardianship (original birth certificate with parent name OR guardianship documents)
- Proof of Residency (lease/property tax statement and power/gas bill OR address affidavit**)
- Certificate of Immunization (Form 3231)
- Certificate of Eye, Ear, Dental, and Nutrition Exam (Form 3300)

Pre-K students follow the Henry County Schools calendar and abide by the Henry County Schools Attendance Policy. Students are expected to be in attendance for the full instructional day (7:45 am -2:25 pm), every school day. Students who are absent for 10 consecutive days without a medical excuse, must be removed from the class per state guidelines.
