Maryland Lottery purchase in Salisbury yields $1,000 every day, for life

Salisbury residents talk about what they would do with their winnings.

A Maryland Lottery player just won big after purchasing a ticket in Salisbury.

The lucky individual will receive the equivalent of $1,000 every day, for life.

The winning Cash4Life ticket matched all six of the winning numbers — 11, 22, 32, 34, 48, and the Cash Ball 2 — yielding the daily game’s top prize, according to a Tuesday release from the Maryland Lottery.

The player purchased the ticket for a Feb. 11 drawing at Winter Place Market, 6731 Hobbs Road, in Salisbury.

If you’re the winner, sign the back of your ticket immediately and keep it in a safe place. The winner has 182 days from the drawing date to redeem the ticket at Maryland Lottery headquarters, 1800 Washington Blvd., in Baltimore.

The winner can choose to receive the prize in annual $365,000 installments or a one-time $7 million payment, both before taxes.

The lottery player isn’t the only winner in this case. Winter Place Market will receive a $7,500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket, the release states.

This was only the third Maryland Cash4Life top prize winner in the game’s four-year lifespan in the state, the release states.

Past winners include residents from Frederick and Pikesville. Players can also purchase Cash4Life tickets in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia.

Cash4Life drawings are held at 9 p.m. nightly. Tickets are $2 each. Players select five numbers from one to 60, and one Cash Ball number from one to four. The game has nine prize tiers starting at $2.

Players may earn the top prize, $1,000 daily for life, by matching all six of the winning numbers. The second-tier prize, $1,000 weekly for life, is available to players who match the first five numbers without matching the Cash Ball.
